A potpourri of stuff today.

Granting a private corporation (run by bankers) control over the US economy is NOT a good thing. You should do your own research on the Federal Reserve and their charter. Do you now think this is such a good idea? One more tumbler engaging in the lock of our own sovereign jail cell. Your paperz, please.

Goggle is at it again. How many more reasons do you need to not support this whorish company? Don't you think they'll use this same technology on you (if they haven't already)? As for the second link, Google is free to engage in the political process as much as anyone, but as a consequence of promoting a particular position in this day and age it's alienating 50% of the electorate, i.e., its customer base.

Typical indeed
OK, I'll play along if you insist. If this what most people think about me and my "kind", who am I to disappoint?

I keep forgetting that
I'm always the racist by default. No prejudice ever comes from the other direction. By definition not possible. Sure. You bet. My day isn't complete unless I can do something mean or discriminatory to a non-white person.
If this is your day-to-day filtered-lens reality I pity you. If you want to live with a chip permanently implanted on your shoulder go ahead. Not my problem. I didn't do anything to you and won't either. I don't have time for such ignorant people. Piss off. Better yet, just go away. Find your Utopia somewhere else.
What's next, driver's licences?
Well, well, well... Some real reporting and legitimate outrage. So we're outsourcing our passports, national security concerns be dammed. Nice. At least they've already established the infrastructure for the REAL ID program.

Welcome respite
This week our new little munchkin is spending his spring break with the in-laws, his Mom, and his friends up North. The wife is home. Even amongst the rennovative chaos the house still emotes an aura of serenity.

** OFFICIAL DHS ALERT **
Warning - Neocon conspiracy propaganda below. Digest with extreme prejudice.
The fictitious "national ID" is alive and well and
already signed into law. Here is the
LINK to the actual program from the DHS itself, not some radical anti-government group.
My favorite snippet from the DHS website: (my emphasis added)
"If your state does not request a REAL ID extension by March 31, 2008,
beginning May 11, 2008, you will not be able to use your state-issued driver's license or identification card for an official purpose, such as accessing a federal facility,
boarding a federally-regulated commercial aircraft, or entering a nuclear power plant."
Yes - you can use your passport, BUT not your driver's license IF it was issued by a state that has refused to cower to the demands of the DHS. Your
paperz are not in order, Comrade...
Here are links to various sources and news articles. Digest with skepticism and call me a tin-hat wearing, black helicopter conspiracy nut if you must (I don't care anymore). A lot of people are just connecting the dots, following the FofIA breadcrumbs, and reading the government taxed tea leaves.

PERSONAL ASIDE
Just because skeptical people like me don't buy into the "consensus" of the environmental left doesn't mean we don't care about our environment. We want clean air, clean water, cleaner energy sources, safer foods, less unnecessary waste, and conservation and preservation of our environment
just as much as anyone else. Where we disagree relates to the logistics, data interpretation, and implementation. We get very nervous when any governing body (federal, state, or local) DICTATES policy based on controversial scientific conclusions, especially when it infringes on our personal freedoms. That's it.
Let's have a REAL non-partisan debate about this issue, free of the threat of loss of government grants and the immediate distrust of research funded by industry and pro-environmental groups alike. Remember that at one time everyone KNEW that the world was flat until proven otherwise. Many people at the time who disagreed with the "consensus" of the day were jailed, tortured, and even killed for such heresy. Yes - today we don't go to these barbaric extremes but many respected scientists have had their integrity questioned, jobs threatened, and funding pulled unless they conform to popular orthodoxy.
Please let's have this debate soon so that a generation of children aren't indoctrinated with a (possible) false dogma based on disputed scientific data. Tell us the truth. We can handle it. What is it that you in positions of power and influence fear? Is it the idea that we don't need you to tell us what is good for us?
Hoof in Mouth
I hope that when I'm presented with alternate points of view backed up with factual research I can be a reasonable person. A good friend of mine sent this to me as a gentle reminder to check my facts before I post. We usually disagree as to how we're going to save the world, but he is informed enough to counter with what he believes is factual data and not just rhetoric (unlike me as of late). Thanks for setting me straight.
Mar 07 '08 YOUR SOCIAL SECURITY
Oh man, yer killin' me here! This is what made me finally write. Because you state: "It's easy to check out, if you don't believe it. FACTS ARE FACTS!!!"
Well.....from the Social Security site... Every Single Bullet Point is Wrong! Even Thomas Jefferson got misquoted ... it was Gerald Ford 1974.

New building-efficiency standards drawn up by the commission would have required new buildings to include remote-controlled thermostats that could allow utilities to control a building's air-conditioning or heating during power emergencies. This was actually a pretty sound idea that had NOTHING to do with Big Brother unless you consider that Big Brother can flip a switch at any time and kill your gas, electricity and phone.

Prophylactic Proclamation
Official Announcement:
The government today announced that it is changing its emblem from an Eagle to a CONDOM because it more accurately reflects the government's political stance.
A condom allows for inflation, halts production, destroys the next generation, protects a bunch of pricks, and gives you a sense of security while you're actually being screwed!
Damn, it just doesn't get more accurate than that!??
Your Social Security
Another one of those things forwarded around the internet that I found worth posting:
Just in case some of you young whippersnappers (& some older ones) didn't know this. It's easy to check out, if you don't believe it. Be sure and show it to your kids. They need a little history lesson on what's what; and it doesn't matter whether you are Democrat of Republican. Facts are Facts!!!
Our Social Security
Franklin Roosevelt, a Democrat, introduced the Social Security (FICA) Program. He promised:
1.) That participation in the Program would be Completely voluntary,
2.) That the participants would only have to pay 1% of the first $1,400 of their annual income into the Program,
3.) That the money the participants elected to put into the Program would be deductible from their income for tax purposes each year.
4.) That the money the participants put into the independent 'Trust Fund' rather than into the General Operating Fund, and therefore, would only be used to fund the Social Security Retirement Program, and no other government program.
5.) That the annuity payments to the retirees would never be taxed as income.
Since many of us have paid into FICA for years and are now receiving a Social Security check every month -- And then finding that we are getting taxed on 85% of the money we paid to the federal government to 'put away' -- you may be interested in the following:
Q: Which Political Party took Social Security from the independent 'Trust Fund' and put it into the General Fund so that Congress could spend it?
A: It was Lyndon Johnson and the democratically controlled House and Senate.
Q: Which Political Party eliminated the income tax deduction for Social Security (FICA) withholding?
A: The Democratic Party.
Q: Which Political Party started taxing Social Security annuities?
A: The Democratic Party, with Al Gore casting the 'tie-breaking' deciding vote as President of the Senate, while he was Vice President of the US.
Q: Which Political Party decided to start giving annuity payments to immigrants?
...MY FAVORITE...
A: That's right! Jimmy Carter and the Democratic Party. Immigrants moved into this country, and at age 65, began to receive Social Security payments! The Democratic Party gave these payments to them, even though they never paid a dime into it!
Then, after violating the original contract (FICA), the Democrats turn around and tell you that the Republicans want to take your Social Security away! And the worst part about it is uninformed citizens believe it! AND CONGRESS GIVES THEMSELVES 100% RETIREMENT FOR ONLY SERVING ONE TERM!!!
"A government big enough to give you everything you want, is strong enough to take everything you have."
-Thomas Jefferson.
"Democracy is two wolves and a lamb voting on what to have for lunch. Liberty is a well-armed lamb contesting the vote."
Benjamin Franklin, 1759
You can't fight the "system"
I guess someone forgot to kiss the right person's ring in the education star chamber.
Read about it
HERE and be afraid. The CA teacher's union was pleased with the ruling -
no shit, Sherlock! Yeah, let's protect the monopolistic status quo for such a
fine educational system.
Thou shall not educate your own children without OUR permission and OUR approved indoctrination!
After watching a report on the news last night about this even my wife commented that we need to get the hell out of here (CA and the USA)!
3/12/08 UPDATE

A talk show was discussing this
ARTICLE this morning. Very insightful and nostalgically funny.
Will Algore attend THIS climate change conference?
I seriously doubt it and I seriously doubt that everyone in the Algore-butt-kissing, charter members of the global warming religious cult, mainstream press will report on it either.
HERE is the conference for those non-existent scientists that dare to disagree with his holiness.
What does THIS have to do with gobal warming?
Hint, hint:
THIS isn't helping to promote your religion. Lock these petulant children away for life. There are worse things I would like to do to them, but the liberals in charge wouldn't go for it, even though these were probably the homes of rich liberals. Ironic, no?
I wonder what quantity of environment-harming pollutants did this little temper tantrum belch into the air? I know it doesn't matter as long it's for the "cause" - a
liberal cause of course...
One day older and...
One year, actually. Much has changed since the quad decadal anniversary. Not all of it good.
Getting by and coping as best I can. Sad thing is that I have so little to complain about compared to others who have experienced REAL tragedy.
I'm so pathetic.
Happy friggin' birthday...
