Thank you sweetie for our second year anniversary. I am truly blessed to be your husband.
I love you very much.
Distrust of Google
I had used Google for a long time, but about 6 months or so ago I switched back to Yahoo as my default search engine. Why?
[1] Their ethical compromises to censor political dissent when they sold their search engine to China.
[2] Their censoring of conservative video content when they bought YouTube.
[3] Their data gathering of their users.
I was just reading an article this morning about Karl Rove that had 3 Google sponsored links at the bottom:
First Daughter engaged - President, First Lady Announce Engagement of Daughter.
Bloomberg.com
Impeachable Treason - Bush. Out. Now. Come See How. Latest News On Impending Bush Fall
www.impeachabletreason.com
Hillary Clinton in '08 - Hillary Clinton for President buttons, shirts, & stickers. Here.
www.DemocraticStuff.com
Was it the luck of the draw (random generated links), that one was a "fluff" story and the other two were in harsh opposition? Who knows? I can't totally avoid Google, but I see this bias often when I do. I may also be seeing what I want to see, too. Either case, I still use Yahoo.
Dang young whipersnappers!
I am showing my age again. Twice this week I confused my younger employees by referencing pop culture quotes by cartoon characters from my childhood. Let's test your own fuddy duddiness:
"I'll gladly pay you Tuesday for a hamburger today."
"Spear and magic helmet!"
The first is attributed to the portly J. Wellington Wimpy (Wimpy) from the Popeye the Sailor cartoons. This was his signature tag line in every cartoon he was in.
The second, albeit a bit more obscure, was from the famous Bugs Bunny cartoon, What's Opera, Doc? starring Bugs and Elmer Fudd in a classic chase sequence where all of the dialogue was sung as an opera to the music of Richard Wagner's The Ride of the Valkyries. (Remember the music from old that Maxell commercial showing the guy in his lounge chair and his sliding drink?) This was also the same cartoon that produced the famous "Kill the rabbit!" line as well.
If I'm the only one who remembers these, I watched way too many cartoons as a kid.
Rome is burning
It seems that our fiscally out of control government is "finally" beginning to catch up with us. Check this article and read about how the US is burning towards economical destruction.
Good stuff...
In light of Karl Rove's announcement today, I thought this an appropriate message to all of his "fair-minded" and "tolerant" detractors:
On another note, here's that video making positive patriotic waves. More "diversity" we don't need... (according to the elites)
Has this crossed your Doppler radar?
Have you heard/read anything about the following items relating to global "climate change" recently?
[1] NASA revising the U.S. surface air temperature rankings due to faulty data calculations, making 1934 - not 1998, the "hottest" on current record. Most of the recent record "hot" years on the list have either moved to the lower top 100 or fallen off the list entirely. Why didn't NASA hold a press conference about something so greatly affecting the current debate on global warming, especially since the 1998 benchmark year is frequently used by so many climatologists and activists? Could it be yet further proof that this whole "debate" is more about grant money, social control, higher taxes, and global politics than non-partisan science?
[2] Where are all of the hurricanes hiding? Seems like every month the hurricane forecasters have been quietly reducing the number of predicted hurricanes. We're in hurricane season and when there aren't any notable hurricanes in the month, they naturally have to revise their predictions. Have you heard any explanations? No? I recall last year it was predicted that 2007 would have a devastating hurricane season. Have we had any yet? Not that I’m hoping to be disproved, that would be true schadenfreude. Again, I can’t ignore that gnat buzzing past my ear, the one that represents more grant money, social control, higher taxes, and global politics.
Maybe I should ask that 11-year old for her informed opinion about this…
Not that kind of diversity
I heard a parody of a public service announcement promoting "diversity" on the Mancow radio show this morning. It was brilliant in how it exposes the hypocrisy of the dominant proponents of diversity. The PSA basically went like this:
Setting: Boss' office Actors: Boss and underling discussing potential employees for promotion. After each employee is mentioned for consideration, Boss makes snide, stereotypical comments about each. Potential employees (inferred stereotype):
- Man who drives a Bronco (racist, redneck hick)
- Man who has "Rush is Right" bumper sticker on car (racist, bigoted conservative)
- Woman who takes Bible to work (religious bigot who will try to convert entire office to Satanism)
- Black conservative man (if he betrayed his "people" by being a conservative, how can we trust him?)
- Asian man (too smart, will make the others in the office feel stupid) Conclusion: After dismissing all potential candidates, Boss exclaims that THIS type of diversity is not preferred or acceptable. PSA moral (good): If you truly believe in "diversity" you must also include people such as this.
I've seen this time and time again. "Diversity" is good as long as it's aligned with the politically correct as defined by the intellectual elite. At present, Whites, Asians, men, Southerners, Christians, and conservatives are all fair game for scorn, ridicule, and exclusion.
Either you believe in diversity or you don't. It's not that difficult. It's a simple back and white concept, and I'm not referring to race here. Until the diversity types "celebrate" ALL forms of diversity, I will NOT take anything that they say seriously.
Let's hope this catches on
Here they go again...
Another symbolic gesture by the Hollywood left, in this case by Mia Farrow. I'm sure her heart's in the right place, but does she really think that they'll take her up on her offer? And if they did, would she really trade places? I doubt it. They never think they might actually have to follow through or honor their proclamations do they? Unfortunately they don't have to. It's just another of those free and empty "I care" gestures that no one takes seriously and only makes the narcissist feel even better about themselves.
It's just like after the 2000 and 2004 elections all of the liberals that vowed if George Bush got elected President, they'll move to Canada or Europe - and NEVER did. Just more empty symbolic promises that do NOTHING and solves NOTHING.
I found this photo from Rush Limbaugh's website (sorry if it breaks protocol) that I thought was hilarious.
Let's hope this becomes the rage amongst the hip (and publicity addicted) Hollywood activist crowd. These useful idiots make good cannon fodder. Just imagine how much they would positively benefit the environment by sacrificing themselves for a "good" cause?
A Trio of musical excellence
Within this last week I had the pleasure of seeing three of my favorite bands:
Dream Theater
Symphony X
Rush
Always a humbling, yet inspirational experience.

Gotta love George
Here's one of those emails that gets forwarded around the web. As with most of these types of emails I can't validate its authenticity, but it's good nonetheless...
YES, I'M A BAD AMERICAN By: George Carlin
I Am Your Worst Nightmare. I am a BAD American. I am George Carlin.
I believe the money I make belongs to me and my family, not some mid level governmental functionary be it Democratic or Republican!
I'm in touch with my feelings and I like it that way!
I think owning a gun doesn't make you a killer, it makes you a smart American.
I think being a minority does not make you noble or victimized, and does not entitle you to anything.
I believe that if you are selling me a Big Mac, do it in English.
I believe everyone has a right to pray to his or her God when and where they want to.
My heroes are John Wayne, Babe Ruth, Roy Rogers, and whoever canceled Jerry Springer.
I don't hate the rich. I don't pity the poor.
I know wrestling is fake and I don't waste my time watching or arguing about it.
I've never owned a slave, or was a slave, I haven't burned any witches or been persecuted by the Turks and neither have you! So, shut up already.
I believe if you don't like the way things are here, go back to where you came from and change your own country! This is AMERICA.
I want to know which church is it exactly where the Reverend Jesse Jackson preaches, where he gets his money, and why he is always part of the problem and not the solution. Can I get an AMEN on that one?
I think the cops have every right to shoot your sorry rear if you're running from them..
I also think they have the right to pull you over if you're breaking the law, regardless of what color you are.
And, no, I don't mind having my face shown on my drivers license. I think it's good..... And I'm proud that "God" is written on my money.
I think if you are too stupid to know how a ballot works, I don't want you deciding who should be running the most powerful nation in the world for the next four years.
I dislike those people standing in the intersections trying to sell me stuff or trying to guilt me into making "donations" to their cause.
I believe that it doesn't take a village to raise a child, it takes two parents.
And what is going on with gas prices... Again?
I believe "illegal" is illegal no matter what the lawyers think.
I believe the American flag should be the only one allowed in AMERICA!
If this makes me a BAD American, then yes, I'm a BAD American.
If you are a BAD American too, please forward this to everyone you know.
